As seen from the main entrance, the living room faces the pool and patio where one can sit and enjoy the breeze and sunlight from the outdoors while sitting comfortably inside.

The picture wall is adorned with images collected from family, colleagues, and estate sales. ”I kill plants, so cacti are our friends,” Peter says of the succulents along the low table behind the Design Within Reach sofa, just over which an Established & Sons Font clock keeps time.

The Serge Mouille floor lamp is paired with the Fabricius & Kastholm Grasshopper chair in the living room. The custom walnut cabinet is mounted on red cedar siding, which provides a dramatic backdrop for the Eames sofa and a Finn Juhl coffee table of solid walnut.

The original rear wall of the house had one small sliding glass door, and several fixed windows that had been broken and water damaged. Two NanaWall bifold glass walls replaced the windows, opening the entire back wall to indoor-outdoor living.
An electric train set from Chicagoland Hobby travels an elevated track designed by Studio Gild. The 35-foot loop passes through the indoor tree house and around the theater room. A Serge Mouille Two-Arm sconce is surrounded by graphic Mylar wallpaper.
