Bedroom Design Photos and Ideas

In the couple's guest room, authentic shoji screens have been converted into sliding closet doors. “I have a slight obsession with Japanese precision and culture,” Mel says.
Each sleeping nook has a reading light. “It's really easy to unplug there and still be comfortable,” says St-Laurent.
Michael Silber’s beach bungalow on New York’s Fire Island was built in 1939 by master carpenter Mike Coffey. When Silber added an upper level to the house in 2015, he sought tradespeople who could match Coffey’s skill, choosing RJS Custom Carpentry.
The bedroom area in the pink house is framed by an arch opening.
The streamlined Meta side table by Berlin design studio New Tendency infuses the guest bedroom with a sleek touch.
The original brown linoleum in the kitchen and living room, the unattractive wood flooring in the main bedroom, and the bright blue plywood flooring in the guest bedroom gave way to whitewashed plywood, which will eventually be covered with true hardwood flooring.
Artwork, surf boards, patterned bedding, and a textured cane headboard keep the otherwise all-white palette from feeling clinical.
The new primary bedroom is still petite, but the high ceilings give it an airy feel.
An external staircase provides access to the cabin’s interior, which boasts a similar wood-clad aesthetic.
While five of the 11 suites are located on the ground floor, the other six are housed on the upper level and include private balconies.
The hotel was built with sand-yellow bricks, a locally produced material that reflects the sun’s rays, keeping the rooms cool without the need for air conditioning.
The restaurant has already been converted for domestic use, but he<span style="font-family: Theinhardt, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;"> rearranged the layout, </span><span style="font-family: Theinhardt, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;">placing the master bedroom on the ground floor. </span>
The bed is by Floyd, and an Alvar Aalto stool that Joshua scored for $100 at a Barneys closing sale functions as a nightstand.
From his bed, Viçent can keep an eye on the animals in the corral. The cable lamps are by Sombras Iluminación and the windows are from Cortizo.
The ceilings in the living areas enhance a sense of openness, while those in the bedrooms are lowered for a cozier feel.
The primary bedroom feels tucked into the vegetation.
A column of windows takes advantage of the double-height ceiling in the expanded primary bedroom, which sits above the yoga studio.
Bedrooms peer out over the courtyard and into neighboring rooms. "I love houses where you can see outside and back in. There’s a magic to that," says Legge.

The master bedroom features a neutral palette rich in textures that are accentuated by natural light throughout the day.
In the primary bedroom, wood and Mediterranean aesthetics provide the common thread. The bedside lamps are from the Spanish decor chain Natura.
In the bedrooms, large windows provide views of the rolling prairie landscape.
The wood-and-glass bedroom frames are fitted with automatic blinds that allow for privacy within the open-concept home.
In the third-floor bedroom, horizontal wood-framed casement windows by Pella open out to tree-filled views of Lake Austin and Westlake Hills. Comfortably austere, the only furniture here is the bed, two nightstands, and a marble table for books and candles. Erik designed the bed, nightstands, and marble table; the paintings are by Jair.
The parquet floor in the master bedroom is stained gray and cut in irregular polygonal shapes.

Consider realistic DIY limitations. If you’ve never delved into plumbing or electrical work before, a major renovation is usually not the right time to get started, as this type of work is best left to professionals. Even something as seemingly simple as demolition work can quickly become more complex if you are replacing plumbing or electrical fixtures.
Always put contingencies aside. During any renovation, it is critical to set aside money for the "what if" or emergency scenarios. For example, there might be plumbing that you didn’t anticipate needing to replace. Conventional wisdom suggests adding 15 to 20 percent to your contractor’s renovation cost to safely consider these contingencies.

Wall sconces can be either uplights or downlights, providing ambient or task lighting, depending on the fixture, but are rarely powerful enough to provide enough illumination alone to light a large space.
For small bedroom ceiling lighting ideas, let natural light take the lead. This peaceful bedroom does just that while incorporating strips of light into the woodwork of the ceiling.
Exposed wood beams are set against contemporary artwork and custom furniture in this bedroom. An expansive modern chandelier, finished in black, provides ample downlighting for the large room.
This master bedroom is located on the western side of the house, and it has a balcony that is well set up for enjoying brilliant sunset views. One of our favorite master bedroom lighting ideas for a vaulted ceiling is to suspend task lighting from the rafters, seen here in this desk lamp look-a-like.
The wallpaper motif in this master bedroom is inspired by mosaic tile floors. It evokes a calm elegance and is paired with a coordinating wallpaper, pillows, and a pendant light.
The bedroom is located on a mezzanine just below the roof of a church. The minimal decor and simple arrangement of the room reflect the client’s modest tastes. The small pewter spotlights and pendant by Holloways of London connect to an exposed galvanized conduit that is set against the brick above the bed.
The clean lines and modern vibe of this stainless-steel fan light can effortlessly elevate any bedroom.
These simple, cylindrical pendants make for an understated look while providing critical accent light in this sizable bedroom.
This funky, mint-green pendant is a simple, diminutive choice for bedroom ceiling lighting.
Copper-hued pendants stun in this bedroom primarily defined by natural and matte finishes. When it comes to bedroom lighting ideas for the ceiling, we can’t get enough of this look for both style and functionality.
